Wuyi Mountain

The first and foremost impression I brought back with me from Wuyi is not the Jiuquxi, or Nine-twist River (although it's the number one must-do), but the one and only Dahongpao - King of Wuyi tea.

It is just pure pleasure to sit down, kick back, and enjoy couple cups of the smooth, supple tea with local people. The consumption of tea here rivals Amerian people's addiction to Coke (the beverage of course). I'm sure that's one of the key secrets to Wuyi people's longevity and slim even bony figures. At most teahouses, it's free to drink. Surely enough, "no free lunch" rule also applies here; free-drinking is just a sales pitch of goodwill. Few people would leave without getting some tea, and that makes everybody happier.

The weather in Wuyi is quite capricious so a traveler's wardrobe needs to be packed accordingly. One minute, it's even hard to keep your T-shirt on; the next minute, you might be shivering under the damp, cold rain, let alone the March snow we ran into on the top of HuangGang mountain at Wuyi Nature Reserve.
