A goal scored with just two tenths of a second left of in the game between the Carolina Hurricanes and the New Jersey Devils proved to be one of the most dramatic finishes ever to an NHL match on Wednesday.

There was only one occasion in the first three games of their first round playoff series with the New Jersey Devils that the scoreboard has shown Carolina ahead. And that was after Tim Gleason's slap shot in overtime that won Game 2. In game four, the Hurricanes came out firing, Eric Staal, Ryan Bayda and Chad LaRose scoring for Carolina successively for a 3-0 lead.

Brian Gionta and Brendan Shanahan got New Jersey's attempt at a comeback underway, helping their side make it 3-2 in the third.

After David Clarkson tied the game at 3-3, the Hurricanes Jussi Jokinen started a play with seven seconds remaining. Pitkanen then passed it off to Seidenberg, who blasted it in off Jokinen's left skate as time expired.

After a review officials determined that the puck crossed the goal line with 0.2 seconds left. Carolina Hurricanes to a thrilling 4-3 win over New Jersey Devils.
