Hillary Clinton visits India

US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has arrived in Mumbai for a five-day visit designed to cement ties.

Clinton has a wide-ranging agenda, including securing a deal to ensure US arms technology is not leaked to third countries. Clinton is also expected to push for a warming-up of Indo-Pakistani ties, strained by last year's Mumbai attacks.

After India, Clinton will attend a Southeast Asian Security Meeting in Thailand. Earlier, Clinton condemned Friday's hotel bombing in Jakarta.

She also said the United States is prepared to provide assistance if requested by the Indonesian government.
