An Airbus A310 with 150 people on board, belonging to Yemeni state carrier Yemenia Air, is believed to have crashed in the Indian Ocean archipelago of Comoros.
Reuters News Agency is reporting that Comoros Vice President Idi Nadhoim says that it's not known if there are any survivors.
A Yemen airport official says most of the passengers are believed to be Comoros residents returning from Paris. Vice President Nadhoim says the accident happened in the early hours of Tuesday, but he could not give any more details.
The exact location of the site was not immediately known. A Comoran police source said the plane apparently came down in the sea and that they do not have any sea rescue capabilities. Comoros covers three small volcanic islands in the Mozambique channel.
