Chinese mainland confirms 89 A/H1N1 flu cases

Nine more A/H1N1 flu cases have been confirmed on the Chinese mainland, bringing the total number to 89.

Six new cases were reported in southwestern Sichuan Province. The patients were all infected through local transmission. Meanwhile, Shanghai, Fujian Province and Guangdong Province have each confirmed one new imported-A/H1N1 flu case.

China's Ministry of Health says so far, the Chinese mainland has registered 89 confirmed A/H1N1 patients and that 50 of them have already been discharged from hospital. There have been no reports of death from the A/H1N1 flu on the Chinese mainland.
