Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is calling for a minute's silence, to honor victims of the Air France plane disastes while speaking at an event to mark World Environment Day.
Some have criticized the president for failing to meet families of the victims. But addressing people from the coastal town of Caravelas, President Lula da Silva requested that they honor victims of the plane crash. The search for the dead continues. But crews conducting operations in worsening weather are facing the prospect that they may never find any remains of the 228 people who perished in the disaster.
