The 28th annual Hong Kong Film Awards has given out its top prizes. "Ip Man," a bio-pic about Bruce Lee's kung fu master won the best picture award. But a low-budget, documentary-like film about a working-class neighborhood was the biggest winner on Sunday night.

The annual Hong Kong Film Awards is the biggest gathering of Hong Kong's film industry insiders. And the stellar line-up on the red carpet on Sunday night was the brightest in recent years.

The award went to 59-year-old Pau Hei-ching, a talented Hong Kong actress.

Movie stars from Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Chinese mainland gathered to pay tribute to the centennial anniversary of Hong Kong's film industry.

And Hong Kong films are indeed this year's biggest winners. Mainland stars have dominated the best actress awards in the past 4 years. But this time, the award went to 59-year-old Pau Hei-ching, a talented Hong Kong actress.

Hong Kong actress Pau Hei-ching said, "We absolutely had no thoughts that 'The Way We Were' would win any awards when we were shooting. We just wanted to support director Ann Hui to make a meaningful film. It's beyond my expectations. Thanks to all my friends for your support."
