Artists from eleven countries shared the stage, at the city's Great Hall of The People in Nanning. The gala capped off the third China-ASEAN Expo.

The gala was directed by Zhang Dongxin, from China Song and Dance Ensemble. The show celebrates southeast Asian culture, and friendship among ASEAN members. "The Step of Love" was specially created for the expo, with dancers from all participating countries.

And China, as host nation, showcased its best. One highlight came from artist Wei Ruiqun, who performed his flawless face-changing routine of Sichuan opera.
