Let's take a closer look at the right way to observe the solar eclipse.

Sunlight will decrease when the eclipse happens. Experts say retina has no pain neuron so it may be damaged unknowingly if people watch the eclipse without any eye protection.

Zhu Jin from Beijing Planetarium said, "Sunlight includes infrared rays which could damage people's eyes."

Experts advise viewing the eclipse through special glasses or through sheets of X-ray film.

Zhu Jin said, "Another simple way is to prick several holes in a piece of paper with a pen. People can watch the moon moving through the shadow cast on the ground."

Experts say observers should add professional filters if they use a telescope or camera to view the eclipse, and take a break after 3 minutes of watching. People should only watch the spectacle with naked eyes once the sun is totally blocked by the moon.
