S. Korea proposes inter-Korea talks

The South Korean government has proposed governmental-level talks next week with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. They plan to discuss pending issues related to the inter-Korean Kaesong Industrial Zone.

The talks will be focused on the contract revisions of the joint industrial complex in the DPRK's border town of Kaesong, as well as a detained South Korean worker in the complex. Pyongyang demanded wage hikes and contract revisions in talks about the industrial zone last month. But South Korea's major concern is the detained employee arrested in March on charges of criticizing the DPRK's political system.
