Quake jolts Indonesia's West Sumatra

The quake hit at 14:38 local time with the epicenter at 43 kilometers southeast of Siberut in Sumatra province.

No tsunami warning was issued. The Sunday quake caused panic, sending people rushing out of their homes. The archipelago country sits on a vulnerable quake-hit zone with frequent seismic and volcanic movements.
