Thursday marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of China's Tibet Autonomous Region. A variety of celebration activities has been planned, with the highlight, a grand parade in the capital Lhasa.

In the Potala Palace square, participants are busy with the last few rehearsals. Twenty floats will be on display...to reflect Tibet's achievements in various fields.

This dancing group is particularly eye-catching. These Choshio dancers come from Shannan Prefecture, in southern Tibet. With beating drums and swinging hair, they show off their traditional culture.

More than a hundred Lama monks will also take part in the parade, selected from five temples in Lhasa, including Jokhang Temple and Ramoch Temple. They hope to impress viewers with their profound understanding of Tibetan Buddhism.

Traditional costume displays will also be part of the parade. And the Yak Dance from Lhasa, with a history of over one-thousand-three hundred years, is also certain to entertain the audience.

These are just some of the many spectacular performances on show, all aiming to give a panoramic view of Tibet. This event, with the participation of more than 6000 people, is the largest of its kind since the establishment of the Tibet Autonomous Region.
