Jia Qinglin was elected chairman of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in beijing Thursday afternoon.
Jia, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, was elected to the post at the fourth plenary meeting of the top advisory body's first session.
Present at the meeting were more than 2,000 members of the 10th CPPCC National Committee.
