At 6:28 a.m. Beijing time, China's first taikonaut successfully touched down in the designated landing place in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The search team has found the re-entry capsule of Shenzhou-5.The main landing place covers an area of some 2,000 square meters. Officials say that search team is equipped with the capacity for medical research and emergency aid. At 6:07 a.m. Beijing time, the research helicopter received radio signals from the Shenzhou-5 at the landing area in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The chute of the spacecraft opened a little earlier. Five helicopters and 14 special vehicles approached the landing site. China's first manned spacecraft had entered the country's territorial air space, according to a monitoring station at Hotan in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwest China. On a large screen in the Beijing Aerospace Command and Control Center, the curve indicating real-time movement of the spaceship showed the spacecraft was flying over China's territory.
