Carmen Sylvain, head of the visiting delegation of the Bureau of International Exhibitions (BIE), expressed Thursday satisfaction with the presentations by the Shanghai side on its bid for hosting the World Expo in 2010.
Carmen Sylvain, BIE vice-president and chairperson of the BIE executive committee, said the presentations by Shanghai are one of the best she has ever received, and that the delegation is quite satisfied.
Members of the delegation said that through their inspection here during the past three days, they have had a comprehensive understanding of China's bid and have been impressed by enthusiasm and support for the bid shown by the local people.
Chen Liangyu, mayor of Shanghai, expressed sincere thanks to the delegation for their instructions on Shanghai's blueprint of the Expo, which he said will help improve the city's future planning no matter whether Shanghai wins the bid.
The delegation, including BIE President Gilles Noghes and Secretary-General V.G. Loscertales, will leave Friday for Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, to find out about the neighboring areas' support for Shanghai's bid.
