In this edition of Around China, we'll focus on a few individuals. Hou Kanglu is a farmer living in the Lushunkou District of Dalian City. He is already 91 years old. He is rich and his many children and grandchildren can also support him financially. Without any pressure on him to make a living, he still keeps busy doing farm work every day. He's done it all his life and can't seem to stop now. His enthusiasm for work helps him lead a fulfilled and meaningful life.
After meeting him, we'll join a team of Canadian students who paid a visit to Dalian No. 1 Middle School in an exchange program. They lived in the homes of Chinese students. Although that period of time was quite short, it was still enough to build friendships and learn more about each other's culture and lifestyle.
