The traditional way of English teaching is facing a crisis. "You (students) have to be able to understand and communicate with native speakers in a very fluent way, as well as a very responsive way. Normally, people would treat skills separately like how much command you have on your listening skill, or spoken English. This is not the right way to judge or set student's proficiency competence," said Professor Zhou Yan from Beijing Foreign Studies University.
