Nantong, New Window on Yangtze Delta |
From the recent Forbes conference in Shanghai to the US pressure to urge China to revalue its RMB, the rapid growth of China has been the top concern for the international business world. The Changjiang River Delta Region has been attracting most of the FDI. This region includes Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, with Shanghai being the engine of economic prosperity. Nantong is a coastal city in northern Jiangsu. Its annual event of port trade fair is aimed to boost the local economy by sharing the overseas investments in this region. We are joined in the first part of today's dialogue by Mr. Niu Qixian, Director of Nantong Foreign Affairs Office; and in the second part of the program, Mr. Laurence Brahm, an American political economist, will join our discussion on the development of Changjiang River Delta Region.
