Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met his Russian counterpart Mr. Kasyanov at the latest Conference of Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing. With political ties get increasingly mature between the two countries of Russian and China, economic issues begin to dominate their agenda. For example China feels upset about the recent offer by Japan to participate in the construction of the oil pipe-line which initially meant to be laid between Daqing in Hei Longjiang and Angarsk in Siberia. Once Japan matches for the deal, the agreement signed between President Hu Jintao and President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg would become a joke or perhaps an embarrassment for both sides. To take a further look at the implications of the deal of the three parties, Mr. Zha Daojiong, the visiting scholar at the Unversity of Chicago will be interviewed by telephone on today's discussion. In the second part of the program Professor Pan Jianqiang will be joining us.
