 Yang Zengqing, a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering，graduated from the Kunming Institute of Technology in 1986. Five years of grass-roots experience in the factory didn’t exclude his love for English. In 1991, beating the odds in fierce English competition, he was employed by the English Service of CCTV as an English reporter. Along with the launching of CHINA TODAY in 1991, he has gradually found himself inseparable from this program and fascinated by it. First as a script translator and program editor and director, finally to a producer, he has full reason to say: ”I’m proud of CHINA TODAY.” Ever since he took on the job of the producer of CHINA TODAY in 1992, Yang Zengqing has been very keen on each opportunity of training on TV making. Apart from participating in various training courses held by CCTV, he also had the opportunity attending a training program sponsored by CNN in the United States in 1997. Learning from masters’ pieces to create one’s own style is his motto. As the producer of CHINA TODAY, he pursues the goal of making each show of the programs as fresh and intimate to the audience as possible. Yang Zengqing’s most influential documentaries are as follows: Wheels Turn, Rails Shine on the Red Soil Plateau (1996 ); Yunnan, the Ideal Venue for Expo ‘99 ( 1998 ); Out of the 20th Century ( 2000 ); The Making of PRC’s Constitution ( 2001 ); Tibet Wheels Forward ( 2001 ). Among them, “Wheels Turn, Rails Shine on the Red Soil Plateau” won the third prize of the Rainbow Award, issued by the Chinese government in 1996.

 Before joining China Today, He Mingzhi worked in the Tibet Autonomous Region for several years. She says that it was a wonderful experience that many of her friends envy. She also taught English to college students in Beijing. Just six months ago, she joined China Today as a script translator and program editor. As a college student, she became very interested in CCTV's English programs. After graduating with an MA in English Language and Literature from the University of International Relations in 2000, she passed CCTV's Overseas Department examination. Not long after, she found that there was a position available at China Today, one of her long-time favorite shows.

Editor & Translator--Nangong Meifang
|
|
 Nangong Meifang joined the China Today team after getting her MA degree in 2000 from the University of International Relations with a major in English Language and literature. Before that, she had graduated with an English BA from Sichuan University and had been teaching English to college students in Beijing for several years.
During her first year at CCTV, she has been working as a translator and editor for the China Today show. She says that the job is providing her with a good opportunity to meet interesting people and learn more about the world. She is eager to tell more people, especially people in other countries, about modern life in China. China Today, a window to information about China, is providing her with just the right opportunity to do so.

Editor & Cameraman--Zhuang Jian
|
|
Zhuang Jian, editor and cameraman for China Today, graduated from the Beijing Normal Sports Institute in 1991. Before joining CCTV, Zhuang had worked as a teacher and a representative of a Taiwan information service company in Beijing. He began working in television in 1997 at Beijing Television Station, where he was engaged in film and TV production. His major productions include two full-length TV series, "Grain in China" and "A Bright Future." After completing Beijing Film Academy on-the-job training program and majoring in movie and television advertisement, Zhuang graduated in 2000. He then joined CCTV's Overseas Department as a director and editor for the show "Cross the Straits." He also helped produce CCTV sports department's "Sports in New China" full-length series. He moved over to China Today in 1999.
