I don`t think it will save the U.S. economy."Buy American"just like Chinese passed---had not communication with forign country.Maybe the action can help U.S.economy in short time,but it is not a wise chioce.Because it can not adapt "global economy".

I do not think it will help out the US. Most of the manufacturing jobs are in Asia, not in the US. When Wal Mart and Target (and stores such as these) sell things mostly made in Asia for low prices, it is not helping the American manufacturers.

Trade protectionism is like adding salt to an open wound, and will simply make matters worst. thats a bad idea with a long term consiquence.I think what the world needs most in times like this should be tranquility,cooporation, and use this crisis as opportunity to get to find better ways to tackling financial crisis in future.

Of course I am not for the trade protectionism. I don't think it can cure current crisis . The crisis is global, therefore which requires global cooperation instead of global protection. If each country implements protectionism, I think the crisis will become more serious, and the bad influnece of financial crisis will be enlarged to more fields.

Yes, the buy american clause is needed to ensure that tax dollars are spend to support the nation. The money should stay in the US, after all it is the tax payer that is called upon to pay for the economic programs. South Korea as well as many other nations in Asia supports their country first why should we be any different?
