Chinese, Russian FMs Pledge Anti-Terrorism Cooperation

     Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue held a regular press briefing this morning in Shanghai.

    She said both Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan and Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov have pledged further cooperation on anti-terrorism issues.

    Zhang Qiyue said the Sino-Russian cooperation will contribute to regional stability and world peace. She also told reporters that as the September 11th incident has slowed the economic growth of the Asia-Pacific region, business leaders at the APEC meetings are seeking further co-operation to bring the regional economies back on the right track. Zhang Qiyue added they are also discussing China's economic development,how to boost foreign trade and how Chinese enterprises can get a stronger foothold in the world marketplace.
