A monument to mark the 50th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet will be erected in the Potala Palace of China's Tibet Autonomous Region.

    The 35-meter high monument will manifest sublime spirit of the People's Liberation Army, and their great contribution to the peaceful liberation of Tibet.

    The monument, designed by Qikang, professor of the Southeast University, is expected to be completed in November.
