Producer--Yang Zengqing
Yang Zengqing, a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering錛実raduated from the Kunming Institute of Technology in 1986. Five years of grass-roots experience in the factory didn't exclude his love for English. In 1991, beating the odds in fierce English competition, he was employed by the English Service of CCTV as an English reporter. Along with the launching of CHINA TODAY in 1991, he has gradually found himself inseparable from this program and fascinated by it. First as a script translator and program editor and director, finally to a producer, he has full reason to say: "I'm proud of CHINA TODAY."Ever since he took on the job of the producer of CHINA TODAY in 1992, Yang Zengqing has been very keen on each opportunity of training on TV making. Apart from participating in various training courses held by CCTV, he also had the opportunity attending a training program sponsored by CNN in the United States in 1997. Learning from masters'pieces to create one's own style is his motto. As the producer of CHINA TODAY, he pursues the goal of making each show of the programs as fresh and intimate to the audience as possible. Yang Zengqing's most influential documentaries are as follows: Wheels Turn, Rails Shine on the Red Soil Plateau (1996 ); Yunnan, the Ideal Venue for Expo '99 ( 1998 ); Out of the 20th Century ( 2000 ); The Making of PRC's Constitution ( 2001 ); Tibet Wheels Forward ( 2001 ). Among them, 鈥淲heels Turn, Rails Shine on the Red Soil Plateau" won the third prize of the Rainbow Award, issued by the Chinese government in 1996.
