China's State Council has held an executive meeting to discuss procedures on how best to handle public health emergencies.
The focus of Wednesday's meeting was to approve a draft of contingency rules on handling emergency public health incidents. The draft rules are expected to greatly help in the prevention, control and elimination of the hazards resulting from sudden public health incidents in an effective and timely way, and to ensure the health and safety of the general public. The State Council will promulgate the rules after further amendments.
