| Chinese mainland responds to WHO's Taiwan inspection |

China's Health Ministry says the Chinese government is gravely concerned about the health of Taiwan compatriots, and has been paying close attention to the SARS epidemic on the island. WHO inspectors have been assessing the situation on Taiwan.
The ministry says the mainland will continue to work with Taiwan to overcome the challenges posed by SARS. Taiwan's local authority has also announced that the number of SARS patients who have died from the disease has risen to five.
