China's Ministry of Health issued an urgent circular Friday urging medical staff nationwide to pay great attention to the importance of isolating both suspected and confirmed SARS patients during treatment. This is to ensure the safety of medical staff and to avoid cross－infection, officials said. Clinics for those with symptoms, and isolated observation rooms for SARS patients must be separated from other parts of hospitals. Suspected patients and confirmed cases must be put into different wards. Disinfection and isolation work in hospitals must follow relative regulations on SARS prevention and treatment.
