| SARS cases on Chinese mainland reach 2,601 |

 China's Ministry of Health reported on Friday afternoon that by 8pm on Thursday, the Chinese mainland had 2,601 confirmed SARS cases.
One hundred and fifteen SARS patients in China have died, while 1,277 others have been discharged from hospital after making a full recovery. In Beijing, the total number of SARS cases has reached 877, of which 73 have recovered and 42 have died. In the 24 hours ending 8 pm April 24th, Beijing reported 103 new SARS cases and three more deaths. Fifteen new cases were reported in Guangdong province and 23 in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Tianjin Municipality had 13, Hebei 12 and Shanxi province reported 11 new cases.
