At present, a growing number of Taiwan students are expressing their desire to return to the Chinese mainland to develop their career. And at the ongoing CPPCC session in Beijing, CPPCC members have proposed creating better conditions for Taiwan region's graduates studying on the Chinese mainland.
During the ongoing CPPCC session, the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League and All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots made proposals to set up regulations that would allow Taiwan graduates enter state-owned enterprises. A letter from Taiwan students attached to the proposal expressed that more and more Taiwan students hope to work in the Chinese mainland after their graduation. Up till now, medical students from Taiwan have been unable to work in state-owned hospitals, and some excellent students were not able to teach at universities.
"I hope relevant departments pay attention to this problem and create policy to encourage Taiwan students to stay in the Chinese mainland," said Yang Size, CPPCC member.
CPPCC member Liang Yanjun also proposed to open more professional qualification tests to Taiwan Students.
Since 1998, the number of Taiwan students studying in the Chinese mainland has increased each year. Over 4,500 students currently study in universities or colleges here. Many of them hope to build their careers in the Chinese mainland.
"I think I will stay in Beijing. All my family members are moving here. I think there are more opportunities for me," said Ma Guorong, Peking University Student (Taiwan).
Zhang Xinghua, a Taiwan graduate from Tsinghua University, says that most of the Taiwan students not only hope to work here, but also want to devote themselves to China -- the same as local students.
