| China, India sign declaration on bilateral ties |

Premier Wen Jiabao and Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee have signed a declaration. It establishes the goals and guiding principles for bilateral relations and outlines cooperation agreements in various fields.
According to a Chinese Foreign Ministry official, the Indian government has for the first time recognized in an explicit way the Tibet Autonomous Region as part of China's territory.
