Staying on SARS, China's Military Academy of Medical Sciences has announced major progress in its research of the virus.
The Academy has completed the biggest－ever protein examination of the SARS coronaviruses and made significant discoveries about the characteristics of the SARS virus and how it works on human cells.
Medical experts say they have managed to establish the reactions of proteins while the virus is attacking cells. They have also discovered the existence of two proteins in the virus that have extremely strong functions together. They say that this might have connections with the fatality of the disease.
