Kazakh president praises China's development |

Hours before Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to his country, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev told China's Xinhua News Agency that relations between the two countries have witnessed rapid growth and smooth development since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992.
He said China is quickly developing in various fields and has set an example for his country in achieving modernization. Kazakhstan is the second stop on Chinese president's tour of three central Asian countries.
Nursultan Nazarbayev said that Kazakhstan regards highly the firm stand of China in developing friendly and good-neighborly relations with his country.
Referring to Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit, Nazarbayev said he has met with President Hu several times before, and praised the Chinese leader as an experienced statesman who has a deep understanding of international politics and the world's economic development.
He also expressed his belief that the Chinese president is capable of ensuring that China develop rapidly and harmoniously in the future.
On Sino-Kazakh economic ties, Nazarbayev said his country has witnessed a rapid development in its trade with China in recent years. Bilateral trade volume in 2002 reached 1.95 billion US dollars. Kazakhstan is Central Asia's largest country with an area of over 2.7 million square meters. China and Kazakhstan share a joint border over 1700 km in length.
