A new drug for SARS treatment has been approved to go into clinical trials by the State Food and Drug Administration.
The new drug is an injection to treat acute lung damage, which is the main symptom of SARS. It helps to improve lung function, and shorten the time that victims need to use a breathing machine. The research institute behind the medicine is now working with SARS hospitals to stage clinical trials.
