 China's Vice Premier and current Health Minister Wu Yi, has called on the residents of northern China to step up their joint prevention and control measures in the battle against SARS.
The leader of China's war on SARS said the key to the successful containment of the virus in China has increased cooperation in the region, which consists of Beijing and Tianjin municipalities, Hebei and Shanxi Provinces, and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
During a meeting on SARS, Wu urged more exchanges of information on the epidemic, and also underlined the importance of stringent quarantine inspections and maintaining the smooth transfer of personnel and materials.
