Medical companies and relevant departments all around China have been making special efforts to support Beijing in its fight against SARS. They have been working out various ways to guarantee the supply of medicines and instruments needed for the treatment of SARS patients.

The sudden impact of SARS has left Beijing with an unexpected short supply of medicines needed for the prevention and treatment of the disease. To help the capital overcome the difficulties, medical companies all around the country have decided to volunteer their help by donating medicines and instruments.

On Sunday morning, a medicine producer in Henan Province donated 500 more packages of medicine to hospitals in Beijing. The company had already made donations of medicines worth half a million yuan.

Although far from Beijing, China's northeast Heilongjian Province is doing all it can to support the capital in this special war. Transportation departments there have opened so-called "green-ways" to make sure that materials needed to fight SARS get delivered in time.

In Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, workers in medical instrument companies are working around the clock to manufacture X-ray machines. Production has been soaring.

And respirators and special "light wave" sterilization machines from Guangdong Province have also been delivered to hospitals in Beijing to help in the fight against SARS.
