| Ministry of Health: 85 new SARS cases, 5 deaths |

In China, where the Ministry of Health reports that in the 24 hours ending 10 am Saturday （May 10）, 85 new SARS cases have been confirmed on the Chinese mainland. Forty－nine of these come from suspected cases. Thirty－eight people have recovered and been discharged from hospital. There are also five new deaths.
According to the Ministry, the cumulative number of SARS cases on the Chinese mainland has risen to 4884. It also says that, to date, a total of 1,620 SARS patients have recovered and been discharged, while 235 people have died. Nationwide, 3029 people are currently receiving treatment.
In Beijing, 54 new cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours, 24 of them from suspected cases, 7 people have recovered and been discharged from hospital and two died in the capital area.
