 Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhang Qiyue expressed China's deep appreciation for the aid and support provided by foreign countries.
She said that with the cooperation and support of the international community, the Chinese people will finally win the war against SARS.
The foreign ministry spokesperson also confirmed on Thursday that several border crossings have been closed temporarily in order to prevent SARS from entering neighboring countries.
"According to international practice, a country may temporarily close its borders in times of an epidemic or other catastrophic circumstances. Based on this rule, China has been temporarily closed some seasonal border crossings into Mongolia. And the opening of a border crossing with Pakistan has been delayed. Also restraint measures have been taken for both the traffic of individuals and goods through border ports with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Kazakstan," said Zhang Qiyue.
