| WHO experts begin SARS inspection in northern China |

A World Health Organization expert team has begun its inspection of northern China's Hebei Province to assess SARS prevention and control measures. On Thursday morning, WHO experts arrived in Baoding city, the first leg of their tour.
The team began the day with a briefing by the city government on the situation of the SARS epidemic there. The team also visited a local epidemic control center and hospital, to get an overview of the city's disease monitoring and reporting network.
As of 3 p.m. Thursday, the city had reported 29 probable SARS cases, five suspected cases and six patients discharged from hospital.
