| China produces SARS reagent |

The first 300,000 boxes of reagent to diagnose SARS were delivered for clinical use today in China. The reagent was jointly developed by Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Military Academy of Medical Sciences.
Medical experts say the reagent is 96 percent accurate in confirming the SARS patients that has developed the virus for 10 days. Experts say a person will develop antibodies after being attacked by certain viruses and the antibody stays in the serum.
By blending the antibody with the separated SARS virus in colored reagent, the result can effectively diagnose the illness. The reagent has been tested on 2,000 SARS patients.
