 Four Xinhua journalists, Huang Quanquan, Zhao Lei, Chen Shugen and Wang Hongda, have been stationed since Saturday in a designated SARS patient reception hospital in Beijing.
All the journalists applied for permission to work from the city's SARS－related hospitals as soon as the SARS epidemic broke out.
The agency approved their application after careful consideration and the journalists were granted permission to report from the SARS Prevention and Treatment Center affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.
The four journalists will live with frontline medical workers in an attempt to gain firsthand interview material and explore the attitudes of both medical workers and patients in the face of the SARS epidemic.
