Chinese scientists have been working around the clock in their hunt for medicines to prevent and treat the SARS virus. They've so far developed a spray and that's gone into production.
The spray is a combination drug that uses a natural protein found in the human body－－interferon. It's supposed to increase immunity when combined with body cells. The first batch of 3,000 has been sent to hospitals, and production capacity is estimated at a massive 10,000 a day. This number is expected to quadruple in a month's time. Special clothes to protect doctors and medical workers have also been developed. They're thought to be 98 percent safe and are to go into production immediately.
