| Hong Kong makes donation to mainland's SARS research |

The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong has donated one million HK dollars toward the Chinese mainland's research involving fighting SARS. The director of the Liaison Office of the central government in Hong Kong, Gao Siren received the check from the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Gao expressed his hope that the fund would help the relevant mainland institutions strengthen their research efforts so as to achieve an earlier breakthrough.
