 Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao says the establishment of a SARS Control and Prevention Headquarters in Beijing is a significant measure implemented by the Chinese Government to help in its fight against SARS.
Wen Jiabao said that with the firm leadership of the CPC, as well as the gained experiences over the last few months, and support from all over the country, the Chinese people will definitely win the campaign against the disease. He urged all the members in the new headquarters to be fully responsible for the mission. He pointed out the important jobs needed to be done at present includes effective prevention, quarantine in transport hubs and vehicles, domestic and international collaboration in technology improvement, as well as preventing the spread to rural areas. He also said quarantines in schools should be further strengthened.
