Hong Kong: SARS economic impact "profound" |

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa said on Tuesday that the impact of SARS on Hong Kong's economy will be long-term and profound.
Hong Kong is considering a series of measures to overcome the financial difficulties caused by the disease. The city has been in close communication with the World Health Organization (WHO) and mainland Chinese health authorities, officials said, including establishing direct communication with Guangdong province on information exchange related to SARS.
