The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top advisory body, ended its 11－day annual session on Friday.
A whole new line－up has taken the central power of the country's top advisory body. Jia Qinglin, the newly－elected CPPCC chairman, identified three major tasks for the CPPCC to work together with the ruling Chinese Communist Party.
These are: To advance modernization, to achieve national reunification, and to promote world peace and development. Jia hailed a smooth transfer of power of the central government as a milestone and an event of great significance for China's stability and development.
He also commented that this session was a great success.
