| CPPCC members call for more efforts on job creation |

Access to employment is the basic rights for everyone. At the ongoing CPPCC session, members of the country's top advisory body are contributing ideas on how to create more job opportunities for those in need.
CPPCC members realized that to create more job opportunities will be a tough and long－term task as additional rural laborers, urban laid－off workers and newly added labor forces are all competing for limited jobs.
Despite the seemingly gloomy picture, CPPCC members are confident that the rapid and steadily developing national economy is providing huge potential for those without a job.
"My view is that we should further develop the private sector of economy. We should especially develop the service industry so as to create more jobs," said Li Yiheng, CPPCC member.
"Community service requires large numbers of maids, babysitters, dustmen, and guards. This field provides a wide range of job opportunities," said Wang Xiang, CPPCC member.
The members agreed that the government's efforts to promote job creation should be paramount and crucial.
In a concrete demonstration of the government's determination to help the job－seekers, the administrative and management departments of Beijing municipality have released a number of favorable policies for laid－off workers who are trying to get reemployed.
The policies stipulate that registration fees and annual check fees are to be waived for laid－off workers trying to get business operation licenses.
Monthly administrative fees, which amount to 2 or 3 percent of operation turnover, will be reduced. These favorable policies will last until 2005.
