Insurance paid on life of SARS victim |

The family of a man who died of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) have received 30,000 yuan (about 3,660 US dollars) in the first SARS-related insurance payout in north China's Hebei province.
According to a local newspaper titled "the Yanzhao Urban News", the victim surnamed Zhang contracted SARS disease while visiting his friend at a hospital in Tianjin municipality in mid April and died afterwards despite treatment.
He signed the life insurance policy with the Xiongxian County Branch of the People's Insurance Company of China (PICC) in 1998.
