| China Red Cross receives 90 million yuan in anti－SARS aid |

The China Red Cross Society （CRCS） had received donations totaling 90.28 million yuan （10.9 million US dollars）, and dispensed 72.35 million yuan （8.75 million US dollars）, to fight severe acute respiratory syndrome （SARS） by June 2.
Meanwhile, Red Cross organizations at regional level also collected 409 million yuan （49.5 million US dollars）, CRCS Vice－President Wang Lizhong said in Beijing on Thursday at the third donation ceremony held by the society.
Individuals and 14 companies donated a total of 11.3 million yuan （1.37 million US dollars）, receiving medals and awards from the CRCS.
Expressing his appreciation to all sectors of society, Wang promised to dispense donations and materials as soon as possible in accordance with the donors' requirements. He also invited donors and media to monitor the collections and expenditure.
