Customs authorities in South China's Guangdong Province have opened "green passageways" to fast track the flow of SARS-related materials from the Chinese mainland to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions.
Local customs have opened priority customs clearance services for materials used in the fight against SARS destined to these regions after witnessing sharp increases in the flow of such goods since early March.
By April 15, 20 million face masks, over 300 tons of disinfectant liquid and other SARS-related goods had passed through Guangdong's Wenjingdu Port to Hong Kong and Taiwan.
And since March 1, the Gongbei Customs authority has facilitated the transport of a total of 243 tons of SARS-related materials to Macao.
