| Health Ministry reports 28 new SARS cases |

There were 28 new severe acute respiratory syndrome （SARS） cases and seven new deaths between 10:00 a.m. May 16 and 10:00 a.m. May 17 on the Chinese mainland, the Ministry of Health reported in Beijing on Saturday.
The cumulative SARS cases rose to 5,209； the death toll and the number of SARS patients discharged from hospitals reached 282 and 2,009, respectively, the ministry said in a daily report.
Beijing reported 19 new SARS cases and 4 deaths from 10:00 a.m. May 16 to 10:00 a.m. May 17, the Ministry of Health said.
